Search for a job by reference
Either press CTRL-J or use Job menu > Select.
Choose Search By Reference. You can set this as the Initial search in this window. (See below).

To change the Initial Search, so that you always search for jobs by reference from this window:
In the Job search window, click the settings icon at the top right - it looks like a cog.
Choose the Initial Search, then click OK. The next time you open the Jobs List window, it will default to the search you chose.
