Sending emails using the Transactor Systems mail server

If you are unable to connect an email account to LabManager, you can use the external mail server we provide.

You must be running LabManager version 8.33 or higher to use this service. Some users may need to contact us for a small update to allow 8.33 to send using this service.


  • In LabManager, open the Control Centre from the Tools menu, or by clicking on the cog icon on the right of the main toolbar.
  • Click "Advanced" at the top left
  • Click on "Emailer Setup"
  • To use our external mail server, replace the server name with just the word DIRECT
  • The User Name box must also contain text. Either retain your current email address in this box, or enter the word DIRECT
  • By default, the email address used on your My Company page is used as the return address. If you wish to specify a different return address to the one on your My Company page, enter it in the "Return email adr" box. If you do not want to use a different return address, ensure you clear that box.
  • All other boxes on this page, other than the wakeup interval, are ignored when using our external mail server.
  • Click Close


Now you can send emails as normal, or even re-send failed emails - and these should be routed via our external mail server.


Note that emails sent this way are processed by a third-party mail server, Twilio SendGrid.
